Bitcoin is accepted for every CatchOn TV plan. You send the amount shown on your payment page from your own wallet, paste the transaction ID, and the network confirms the transfer before your line is activated.
Sending the payment
Open the payment page for your order. It shows the amount in bitcoin, converted from the US dollar price at the rate on that page, plus our receiving address and a QR code. Scan the code with your wallet or copy the address, then send the amount. Check the address carefully before you confirm, because a Bitcoin transfer cannot be reversed.
Confirmations
Bitcoin transfers take longer than the other coins. The payment page shows how many confirmations are needed and how many your transfer has so far. Expect around ten minutes for the first confirmation, and longer when the network is busy.
Network fees
The fee is set by your wallet and by how busy the network is. A normal priority is enough for most orders. The fee is paid on top of the amount shown, so send the full amount and let your wallet add the fee, or leave a little extra in the wallet.
If the amount is off
Underpayments are not confirmed automatically. An overpayment above a few per cent is also reviewed by a person. Do not send a second payment until we have replied to your ticket.
Questions about paying in Bitcoin
Why does the amount in bitcoin change?
The dollar price is converted at the rate shown on the payment page. The page locks the amount for a limited time, so send it while the page is open.
What if I send the payment to the wrong address?
Bitcoin cannot be reversed. Send a ticket at once, with the transaction ID, and we will check what we can do.
Can I pay Bitcoin from an exchange?
Yes. Withdraw the exact amount to the address on your payment page, and allow for the exchange’s own withdrawal fee.
