Samsung and LG televisions cannot install the CatchOn TV Android app, so the set-up uses a compatible IPTV player from the television’s own store. The smart TV page explains why, and this guide covers the steps.
Find a compatible player
Open the television’s app store and search for an IPTV player that accepts an Xtream-style login: server address, username and password. Read its description and check its support notes. Players and their availability depend on your country and on the store, so we cannot promise that any particular one is listed.
Enter your details
Open the player and find its login or add-service screen. Enter the server, username and password from your activation email or from My subscription. Some players ask for a playlist link instead, which is also in your details. Choose the one the player asks for.
Set the guide
Find the guide or EPG settings in the player, and set the time zone for your location. Check the time against a channel you know. If listings are missing, refresh the guide data.
Use a box instead
If no player suits your television, connect an Android TV or Google TV box to an HDMI port. The box runs the CatchOn TV app and TiviMate Premium, and the television shows the picture. The Android install guide covers that route.
Older televisions often have fewer players in their store. If yours does not offer a suitable one, a box is the more dependable option.
Questions about smart TV set-up
Why does my TV not list the CatchOn TV app?
The app is an Android APK and is not sold through Samsung or LG stores. That is why the player route is used.
Will the guide match the app’s guide?
The layout differs between players, but the listings come from the same source.
Can I use the same details on the TV and a phone?
Yes, within your plan’s screen allowance.
