Most Fire TV sticks install the CatchOn TV app in a few minutes. When an install stops, the cause is usually one of the points below. The Fire TV device page shows the full route if you have not yet installed the app.
The install stops at “unknown apps”
Downloader needs permission to install apps from outside the Amazon store. Open Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer options, and turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader. If Developer options is hidden, open About, select the device name seven times until a message says developer options is on, then return to the settings.
Downloader does not load the code
Check the Downloader code from your activation email, and type it exactly, with no spaces. Make sure the Fire TV is connected to the internet. If the code still fails, use the download link in the email in the Fire TV’s browser instead.
The APK will not install
Free up storage. Open Settings, then Applications, then Manage installed applications, and remove apps you no longer use. A full device cannot install a new app, even a small one.
The stick is on Vega OS
Vega OS sticks install apps only from Amazon’s store, so the CatchOn TV app cannot be installed. Check the About page as described on the device page. If the stick is Vega OS, contact support before you proceed.
The app opens to a blank screen
Restart the Fire TV, then open the app again. If it still opens blank, reinstall the latest APK over the old one. Your sign-in is kept.
