  8. The short version

The activation code is the key that opens your line in the CatchOn TV app. It is short, it is case-sensitive, and when it fails, the message is not always clear. This article shows where to enter it, where to find it again and what to do for each common error.

Where to enter it

Open the CatchOn TV app for the first time on your device. The first screen asks for the activation code. Type it exactly as it appears in your email, or as shown under My subscription. Then enter your login details if the app asks for them.

Where to find it again

The code was sent to the email address you ordered with, and it is shown under My subscription after you sign in. Search your inbox for the subject line of the activation email if you cannot find it, and check the spam folder too.

Typing it correctly

  • Copy and paste where you can, using a phone to copy the code and send it to the TV.
  • Watch for capital letters and for characters that look alike, such as the letter O and the number zero.
  • Remove any space you added by accident at the start or end.

“Try again” or a similar message

This usually means the code is being checked, or that the screen limit for your plan has been reached. Wait a few minutes, check the spelling, then try again. If you have other screens signed in, sign one of them out to free a connection.

“Invalid code”

The code is mistyped, or it belongs to a different order. Compare it with the email again. If it matches and is still rejected, the line may not yet be activated; check the payment page for confirmation, and if it is confirmed, contact support.

The code has not arrived

If the payment is confirmed on the payment page and the email has not arrived, check your spam folder, then look under My subscription. If the code is not there, open a ticket with your order number.

After the code works

Keep the code somewhere safe, because it stays useful when you change devices. The app sign-in guide explains the settings to change first.

The short version

Enter the code exactly as sent, check your screen allowance, and look under My subscription if you lose it. A code that still fails after these steps needs a ticket with your order number.
