The movie channels in CatchOn TV run films through the day and evening, each with a schedule in the programme guide. Use them when you want a film on now, or the guide to plan a whole evening in advance.
How the schedule works
Each movie channel lists its films by start time. The guide shows the title, a short description and how long it runs, so you can decide whether to join a film part-way or wait for the next showing. Channels generally repeat films, so a title you miss may return later in the week.
Movies on demand
For a film you want to start at a time of your choosing, use the on-demand library. The library and the movie channels work together: a film you see on a channel may also be in the library, subject to availability.
Picture and sound
Movie channels are usually offered in HD, and a few may carry 4K where the broadcaster sends it. A wide screen and a wired or 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection give the best results. If a film stops and starts, the buffering guide lists the common causes.
Questions about movie channels
Can I pause a film on a live channel?
Not on a live channel. Pausing needs a recording or a catch-up archive, and TiviMate Premium offers that where the channel allows it.
Why does a film start a few minutes late?
Channels run to their own schedule, and the guide shows the start time in your time zone. If the listing looks an hour out, check the time zone setting in the app.
Do movie channels show adult films?
Adult channels are not part of the standard groups. Where the line-up carries them, they sit separately, and a PIN lock in your player can keep them from children.
