Samsung and LG televisions run their own operating systems, Tizen and webOS, and neither can install the Android APK file that carries the CatchOn TV app. This is the most common question we receive, so it is worth being clear about it at the start.
What works on these televisions
You can watch CatchOn TV on a Samsung or LG set with a compatible IPTV player from the television’s own app store, signed in with the server, username and password in your login details. Which players are available depends on the store and your country, and we cannot promise that a particular player will be listed. Check the player’s description for support of Xtream-style logins before you install it.
Alternatively, connect an Android TV or Google TV box to the television’s HDMI port. The box then runs the CatchOn TV app and TiviMate Premium, and the television simply shows the picture.
What does not work
Installing the APK through a web browser on the television does not work on these systems, and any guide that says otherwise is out of date. Samsung and LG do not allow that kind of install.
Setting up a compatible player
Open the television’s app store, search for an IPTV player that accepts login details, and install it. Enter the server address, username and password from your activation email or from My subscription. Then open the channel list and check the programme guide.

Can I install the CatchOn TV app on my Samsung TV?
No. The app is an Android APK, and Samsung’s Tizen system cannot install it. Use a compatible player or an Android TV box.
Can I install the CatchOn TV app on my LG TV?
No, for the same reason: LG’s webOS cannot install APK files. Use a compatible player, or a box connected by HDMI.
Is the player on the TV’s store the same as the app?
No. A compatible player is a separate app that uses your login details. Its features and guide may differ from the CatchOn TV app.
Do I still get TiviMate Premium with a smart TV?
TiviMate runs on Android devices, so it does not work on Samsung or LG sets. It is included with your plan for the Android screens you use.
